Helmut Lang
Born in Vienna, Austria in 1956, Helmut Lang became a celebrated designer in his hometown in the mid 1980s with his first ready to wear collection. He began showing women's clothes in Paris, and later introduced his men's collection. Today Lang is considered one of the pace makers of fashion design. He uses uncommon materials and cuttings for clothes, not loud in appearance. His colleagues refer to him as "a deconstructionist, a minimalist, a futurist, whose creations have inspired a whole generation of new designers." Although his designs and fashion shows gain much attention publicly, he remains a very private man, thus there are very few photographs published of him personally.
